CAMERA TYPE

What kind of Camera do you HAVE?
SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera. A camera, usually with interchangeable lenses, where you can look through the lens giving you the most accurate focal and framing control.

In this sort of camera a single lens is used for both focusing and taking pictures. In most SLRs light is directed between the two functions by means of a 45-degree mirror, which swings up as the shutter is activated but before it actually opens. The big advantage of an SLR over other camera types is that the image in the viewfinder is the same as the image captured.
POINT AND SHOOT (SLR Style) camera.

With protruding lenses and large hand grips, SLR-style cameras have bodies that are physically similar to actual SLR cameras. Unlike proper SLRs, however, these cameras do not have "through-the-lens" viewfinders and do not accept interchangeable lenses.
(We consider this to be a POINT AND SHOOT Camera)
POINT AND SHOOT camera.
A point and shoot camera offers few or no manual controls and very simple operation. Focus, exposure, and most other adjustments are completely automatic; all the owner needs to do is aim and push the shutter button. Most advanced cameras also have point and shoot modes.
